Once again I will attempt to write my life down and all the odd occurances. Through it all I hope you can find my twisted sense of humor somewhat...humorous. Leave me a message in my Guestbook! |

Daaa Deerse Lately the deer population has increased in the local area. I suppose it is because there aren't as many hunters out there anymore, PETA, etc. At any rate the deer population grows larger everyday. There seems to be a direct relationship between this population growth and the number of deer hit by cars. Has anyone else noticed how many there are just along the highway? Well I always wondered if the state did anything with the carcasses (such as pick them up). I had heard that they did, but I began to believe they were lazy and just let them decay over time since that is what I have witnessed on my way to school.Week 1: "Awww man, another one got hit! That sucks." Week 2: "Geez, that deer is huge now" Week 3: "Good Lord, I wish they'd clean that poor thing off the road. He looks like he's been deflated!" -this goes on until eventually nature takes care of the rest and eventually turns the body into compost. This was the usual thought process until about a week and a half ago when I saw the deer truck. I'm driving along and notice a truck facing traffic, sitting on the side of the highway, and I can see that it has a crane like mechanism in the back. I thought "Hmmm, wonder what that is fo..." , that is until I drove past and noticed that in the bed of the truck there were about 10 or 20 lifeless deer bodies. *sniff* Apparently this guy was going along the highway and collecting all the road kill. I couldn't believe it. What's really weird though is since then I have seen him two more times! Very strange.
